F.A.C.T.S. Hosted The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial

The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is a global event that brings communities together to remember those lost to HIV/AIDS and support those living with it. Through candlelight ceremonies and shared stories, the event promotes understanding, compassion, and unity. This year, on May 16th, Positive Assistance’s Faith-based AIDS Coalition for Technical assistance and Services (F.A.C.T.S.) hosted the event at EBON Temple, right here in Orlando.

The event featured speakers from the Orlando Stigma Task Force, QLatinx, Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention, and EBON Temple. A key focus of the memorial is providing hope to our local communities, highlighting organizations like ours, Positive Assistance, that offer resources like HIV testing information, treatment, prevention and counseling, plus linkage to care – all of which reduce stigma and encourage healthy choices. HIV doesn’t discriminate and neither does Positive Assistance. We provide hope and support to individuals living with chronic illnesses and those at risk.

More than a remembrance, the event inspires action and hope - building stronger, supportive communities committed to ending HIV/AIDS.
